Highland Aviation Museum is a family friendly, educational attraction just next to Inverness Airport. You can see a range of real life historic military aircraft and even go inside & pretend to be a fighter pilot. For the more avid enthusiasts, there are a wealth of technical facts and historical artifacts to browse. Our displays contain materials dating back as far as WW1. Come along to enjoy a great couple of hours.

We did a 60 mile round trip to take our grandson to visit this attraction only to find that it is now closed until April of next year (2017). This should, surely, be noted on your website.

Visited several years ago though it doesn't let me say so. At first glance it's a junkyard and we nearly drove past it, but looks can be deceptive. Americans used to professional museums with massive collections like Pima, USAF or the Smithsonian may be a little shocked; according to the staff British authorities do not donate aircraft, so what little... Nice museum with a few exhibits. Many cockpits can be sat in so a nice experience for kids. Not the easiest to find but worth the effort to find it. Friendly hosts with a good knowledge of the exhibits.

Our children had an amazing trip. We were fully welcomed by all, informed about health and safety and boundary lines. Children were able to climb in and out of real planes of different sizes, with lots buttons to press and twisty gadgets this is a very hands on experience which our children extremely enjoyed. Children were learning as they went... More

Well this place is difficult to find. All we knew was that it's by the airport somewhere. It's actually off the roundabout in an industrial estate. It's privately owned and from the outside you think - oh dear, it's a scrap yard! In actual fact, this guy clearly has a passion for aviation and has put his heart in to... More

We had a fantastic visit spent an hour climbing in and out of cockpits. It's great to go to a museum where you can touch the exhibits. Would recommend you don't need to be aircraft enthusiasts to enjoy it.

Thoroughly recommend this as a visit if in the Inverness area. Very in depth explanation of the ejector seat and bomb aiming equipment. The best about the museum is the ability to get inside the aircraft and feel the controls. My 10 year old son found it the best museum he has been in until now, this very much comes... More

Lots of planes in which you get to touch button and actually go in them. The children or adults can even sit in the pilots seat. Lots of information and the volunteers are fantastic and helpful offering information about the planes history, etc. Please don't be put off by how small it looks because it is worth it when you... I saw the sign for this and returned the following day. Several reviewers say it looks like a scrapyard. What I would say is that "one man's scrap is another's gold". I have only been to one other aviation museum...the National Museums of Scotland Museum of Flight in East Lothian. I would say that if they crammed their exhibits into... More
