If you are coming all this way - then forget John O'Groats and go straight to Duncansby Head/Stacks and Lighthouse - it is amazing. Even in the wind it is worth the visit - we were lucky enough to see Puffins as well as the...More

Truly astonishing. We witter on about great natural sights on the continent and elsewhere but there are great sights on our doorstep too! The short drive (or walk) from John O Groats is good fun and there is plenty of parking at the Lighthouse with...More

We visited John O'Groats today and were blown away by the coastline driving up from Inverness. The coastline once we arrived was absolutely amazing too. Definitely on the list of must sees if you are up this way. The Duncansby Head is unbelievably beautiful with...More

When you first see the Stacks it's definitely a WOW moment! This area is fantastic! Lots of birds, including puffins, resting on the cliff ledges! Brilliant photo opportunity!

The walk from the car park, down along the cliffs is simply breathtaking (if windy!). Path is easy to follow, not too muddy, and the dangerous bits of cliff are mostly fenced off. Amazing sunrise views over the stacks

After a firm walk from John O Groats lighthouse we could see the stacks. For the first time we could see them without mist or Rain. Nice to look down in the cliffs to watch the wildlife as well

My wife and I visited the light house and walked down the trail to see the Duncansby Stacks. It's an easy trail that takes you to an awesome vista showing some of natures wonders. I've never seen any geological formations like the stacks.Great photo ops.

Hello; What a lovely walk you're planning...but the main attraction is between the lighthouse and the stacks (not between John O and the lighthouse. So be sure to pace yourself so that you can walk the latter part of the... More
