We know Aviemore well and have done lots of sections of this walk in times past. This gave us a good idea of where we were going anyway. We did take a map though from the information centre. We know Dalfaber Resort well,(having stayed there in the past) and the golf course, so we made the walk longer ourselves by... More

We had a lovely risk morning for our walk. We had not one but two maps from the visitors centre (which, by the way don't always show the same streets!). Going clockwise from the town centre you have to (a) find where the path leaves Grampian Road, and (b) navigate around the massive MacDonald resort to get to the Milton... More

By doing this walk you will see how large Aviemore really is and this will also get you out and about with out costing you any money, the children can run around and there is only two places where children have to be supervised as you cross the main road, a good way to tire the children out.

Locals gave us directions for this circular walk and despite the signposts for it we still got lost. Seriously you need to have this one well mapped out clearly beforehand, don't think you can just amble off and find an easy trek, it's really confusing where to go

Not too difficult, but really gets you into the outdoors, a good option either if you have limited time, or as an introduction to the area. Short options can work if you are really short on time, ditto combinations with other routes if you want a longer day.

I think it is the proper name for the walk . The signs state Aviemore Orbital . You can get a map from the tourist information office . This is an easy walk with several types of underfoot surfaces . Would recommend sturdy walking boots . We done this walk three times as we are not used to this type... More
