- lindalambie89Falkirk, United Kingdom45 contributionsFantastic day out!!It was totally amazing. We went with our 9 year old grandson and we all had a fantastic day. So much to do and see. Everything was interactive. We arrived at 11.20 and left at 17.00 when it closed. Our grandson visited some of the stuff 2 and 3 times it was so much fun. We also went to the Planetarium show and it was also fabulous. Plenty of areas to sit and have lunch etc. Theres a cafe on site but we took a packed lunch. Everything was spotless and the staff were so helpful and knowledgeable. Overall a brilliant day and would definitely recommend for adults and children alike. £40 for the 3 of us with car parking included and the planetarium 👍👍👍 .Visited February 2023Travelled with familyWritten 20 February 2023
- Alison H45 contributionsHands on day, but staff on the floor would have been greatAving not visited since before the pandemic, we were all looking forward to our day. Despite some of the country being on half term, the centre was overrun in the morning by a number of primary school visits ( we counted at least 7 large groups), which wouldn't have been a problem if there had been any element of control by school or centre staff. Centre staff were noticeable by their absence. It would have been nice if their had been people on hand to suggest and assist. Very disappointingly the cafe was shut, with only a small and limited coffee bar available. All that said, we had a super day, especially enjoying being very hands on. Our 8 and 12 year olds each found many delights.Visited February 2023Written 23 February 2023
- LizoftheMidsLichfield, United Kingdom47 contributionsA must visit!A weekday visit did mean that there were a lot of noisy groups of school children. But what a brilliant time they must have had. Everything is interactive- it may be aimed at children - but as oldies we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Well maintained and informative and simple explanations of how to use the displays/experiments. We could easily have spent 4 or 5 hours there. Would 100% recommend that you visit.Visited February 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 25 February 2023
- Amie CStaffordshire, United Kingdom23 contributionsGreat Hands On Day OutLots to do here to keep the children entertained for a few hours. Very interactive and hands on with some extra demos. You can also pay extra for additional shows. We've been coming here for the last 5 years when we visit Glasgow and yesterday my 7 and 10 year old still enjoyed it.Visited February 2023Travelled with familyWritten 26 February 2023
- Jamie AAberdeen, United Kingdom3 contributionsGood for young children but not older kids.I visited with my younger brother, who is 8 years old, and he very much enjoyed it, but older children would find it quite boring. the flight academy was very good, but it does cost an additional fee. There was lots to see and do for young children but the cage is really busy as it is the only one in the science centre.Visited April 2023Travelled with familyWritten 8 April 2023
- Keith SClitheroe, United Kingdom99 contributionsBrilliant half day.....Normally at these interactive sort of museums there is plenty out of order. Not so here. And what a Centre. It was truly magnificent for Adults and Children. Everything well and clearly explained and loads of fun. Would go again anytime......We're so pleased to hear you enjoyed your visit - thank you for your review!Written 17 July 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 14 July 2023

Although we went during the school holidays and it was quite crowded, our grandchildren still had a lot of fun. Recommend for anyone who likes a challenge mentally.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 5 August 2023
- John APaisley, United Kingdom81 contributionsPlanetarium was incrediblePlanetarium. Visited this many years ago and watched an interesting documentary but technology and graphics have come a long way since back then. One of my favourite albums, Pink Floyd; Dark Side of the Moon was played start to finish with incredible graphics to accompany the music. Fantastic experience. Hosts were engaging and knowledgeable. Entry and exit were trouble free, plenty space to move around. Seats were comfortable. Venue was clean and well maintained. A great experience and will return for other albums, should they be available.Visited August 2023Written 9 August 2023
- simonbO1383QO47 contributionsEducational family funWhat better way to help all the family learn new & exciting things about Science, the modern world electricity production or the human body than by doing it interactively, three floors of interactive fun for everybody. We also visited the planetarium for a visit through our stars, planet’s & galaxy’s. To see the fun & excitement on everybody’s faces as they learn & play is priceless. Well worth a visit but it is not a quick visit, the little people will want to be there all day.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 10 August 2023
- Mick RAyr, United Kingdom478 contributionsEnjoyable day out.Had a day out with our granddaughter and she loved the many active displays though didn’t understand the purpose of many of them. The staff were friendly and helpful and there is a cafe on the ground floor with a limited selection of food at a reasonable price. Unlike other Glasgow Museums it isn’t free. We were advised to pre book but ended in the same queue as those who didn’t book which seems pretty pointless.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 12 August 2023

Took my 8 year old here today after his mum took him a while ago and he wanted to go again.
Fantastic!
So much to see and do... talk about making learning fun and exciting.
The space show in the Planetarium was superb and the food in the cafe was really good.
Lovely location too on the riverside.

3 floors of interactive fun for all ages. Went with my 15 year old and we both had a fantastic time.
Went to the Planetarium show, and having been to a few of these in different venues, I can say that this was by far the best ever. The team running the show were fantastic.
highly recommend spending half a day here, and definitely dont miss out on the planetarium if you get the chance

The Science Centre is brilliant and well worth a visit if you have any interest in science. Actually, go even if you think you don’t like science.
There are three floors full of exhibits, most of them interactive. Each exhibit also has clearly-written instructions and information explaining the science that the exhibit demonstrates.
Staff are helpful and willing to take the time to help and explain what’s going on. Cafe is good when you are science-saturated and need a break. The only mistake we made was that we only allowed 3 hours for the visit - we could have stayed much longer.
We came by train and the signage from the station isn’t good.

Had a fantastic experience at the Glasgow Science Centre. The amount of exhibits and the level of interactiveness was absolutely amazing for our two year old son.
The roaming guides were great at pointing out cool stuff and made the experience special as well.
If you like to learn something new, play some games and run your kid ragged (before the afternoon nap) then this is definitely the place to do it - especially if it's raining.
Set across three floors you are best starting at the top (to avoid the school groups) and work your way down. Level 1 has a huge play area with a crane, wooden trains, aquatic dress-up.
Plenty of parking and you get reduced rates at the front desk when you pay for your admission.

Visited the science museum whilst on a trip to Glasgow. Very good and interesting museum which covers all aspects of science from the solar system to the human body & mind.
I would if given this a 5 star but the tower was closed due to high winds. Given that it wasn’t that windy on my visit I suspect the tower is closed more times than it’s open.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review! We're pleased to hear you had an enjoyable time at the science centre :)
It's unfortunate you could not experience our tower. During our morning checks, we make the decision to close if the wind speed is expected to exceed gusts of 25mph at cabin height. Hopefully, you can make a return visit to experience this on a nicer day!

A wonderful place for a full day of fun. There is plenty to do for kids of ages 1-111 yrs old. There are some very obvious crowded attractions and some really informative ones. The plantearium shows are a must for anyone visiting, although they come at a cost. A definite visit whether you're visitng Glasgow or a local.

Always wanted to visit somewhere like this. Was able to be a big kid but learn in a way that suited me too, even as an adult. Worth the money and gift shop was really reasonable too. Staff was so lovely and helpful. Wasn’t busy at the end of summer holidays.

Hi, does the Centre have cafe/restaurant facility?
JSSAmber

It does indeed! You can't miss it on the way in. There are loads of tables, too, probably in anticipation of big school groups being brought in. I suspect that if you wanted to bring a bag lunch and sit at one of their tables, you could get away with it.

What’s the best way to get there from centre of Glasgow with two young children?

Take the train to the secc station. It is no kore than 7 to 8 minutes walk from there , perhaps 10 if small children. There is also taxis at station which i have used in bad weather and cost £7 with tip.

Have a few hours to kill in Glasgow, not sure if I should get the general entry ticket or planetarium entry only, any suggestions? Have about 2ish hours before I have to get a plane home would it be worth the full ticket or not

I’d go for the general entry ticket, although I am not so sure that I would have found the experience enthralling without taking children. It was their interaction with the exhibits that I enjoyed, the science is quite basic. I

Probably just your work ID mate. I’m a support worker and that does me. If you’re a family member a DWP letter or any benefits letter should do. Give them a call I’m sure they’ll be friendly enough

can the imax cinema be booked in advance along with your science centre tickets? also does anyone know if there are lockers for storing picnics/ coats etc?

advance booking is possible.
My young grandkids were really bored in the planetarium. Despite the hype, it was not very good, - very over-simplified and dumbed down.
Certainly there are panic areas, not too sure about storage though.
