Great Small Museum, Rather Poor Customer Service

Had been looking for something to do to fill in time in the afternoon and this looked interesting. Small frontage led to a larger museum than expected, many glass cases and some good information boards on campaigns and history, two floors. However, while opening times on the window indicated a closing time of 4pm we were called to leave at... More

As you'll read in other reviews, the staff at the museum aren't exactly friendly. We arrived to find a sign stating the museum would reopen at 1:15, which it did not. We gave up after waiting 15 minutes, and came back later. We managed to see half the museum before a staff member shooed us out, a full hour ahead... More

Travelled over 150 miles to visit this museum . Had been checking their website , which itself is very poor, for information about what is in the museum and opening times etc. It is only open weekdays so had wait until I retired from work so that we could visit. After an expensive train journey and an overnight stay, we... More

The museum traces the history of the three regiments from which the Royal Highland Fusiliers are descended. Starting in 1678 the story carries through to the Regiment today. The collection is shown chronologically on two floors of interlinked galleries illustrating the many campaigns in which the Regiment has served with displays of weapons, uniforms, medals, music and regimental trophies and... Very interesting just shame it's so small given the history attached. Well located in Glasgow's famous Sauchiehall Street!

Good but small museum. Really interesting and as someone who's not into military history I found it fascinating and informative. I found staff knowledgeable and approachable. Great wee attraction.

It is one of the smaller military museums about but still very interesting. I must have taken about 50 minutes to look over the exhibits.

: Situated at the Charring Cross end of Sauchiehall Street this Mackintosh designed building house's the museum of one of Scotland's most famous regiments. Once through the small entrance you encounter a Tardis like building that first explains the formation of the regiment, the reason behind the colours and the initial history. In the second of the eight rooms of... More

A small museum, probably taking no longer than 45 minutes to visit located on Sauchiehall Street towards the Charing Cross end. Easy walking distance from the top of Buchanan Street. Probably no bigger than a small residential house - on ground and first floor covering the history of the Highland Light Infantry and the Royal Scots Fusiliers and their amalgamation... More

Loved the museum, but as has been commented on before the lady guard who works there is extremely rude, positive I heard her muttering swear words as I passed her, she then locked the door and followed me around the museum making some very odd noises etc, quite scary actually. I kept waiting for Basil Faulty to show up!
