As lovers of military history we visited this museum a few days ago. Although the museum looks little more than a shop entrance from the outside, we were delighted with the collection of artefacts on view and spent a reasonable amount it time st the...More

This interesting little museum is a natural home of the Highland Light Infantry, Glasgow’s own regiment which was assimilated into other ones during British military rationalisation. Helpful, welcoming staff provide suitable directions within the museum which contains a myriad of artefacts relating to the Royal...More

A very belated thank you for your kind words - we are very proud of our Museum and think that it is well worth a visit to learn about the contribution of the soldiers of Ayrshire and Glasgow since 1678.

Review by Dr Sim. You go pass this on the hop on hop off bus. The museum is small but nice. History of one of the many military units that served the Queen. Nice souvenirs for tourists and visitors. Regard Dr Sim

Behind a 'shop facade' on a busy city street hides this regimental museum, with exhibits from its previous regiments: the Royal Scots Fusiliers and the Highland Light Infantry. Both had distinguished histories and this museum does justice to both. Crippled by government stinginess the Curator...More

Had been looking for something to do to fill in time in the afternoon and this looked interesting. Small frontage led to a larger museum than expected, many glass cases and some good information boards on campaigns and history, two floors. However, while opening times...More

As you'll read in other reviews, the staff at the museum aren't exactly friendly. We arrived to find a sign stating the museum would reopen at 1:15, which it did not. We gave up after waiting 15 minutes, and came back later. We managed to...More
