This place is brilliant, more stuff to do in the summer, but still worth a visit in the winter. Been going here for years and love it. In the summer it is busy with lots of visitors, people walking dogs and families out for fun...More

The actual site is called Loch Lomond Shores and has shops, massive car parks and outdoor spaces at the edge of Loch Lomond. There are a number of outdoor activities you can pay to take part in. Just don't expect any National Park Information centre.

Nice change to Glasgow and only 30 minutes away from the city centre - yet you are greeted with an amazing view. Boat trips, kayaking and bikes for hire gives you plenty of active options.

Plenty of space to walk and visit the area attractions, along with great restaurants and you can take a boat tour as well. Directly off the train!

Hi how to get to Loch Lomond from Glasgow with public transportation please? what would you recommend for touring around the loch on foot? ( we plan to spend a day there ) is there a boat ride accessible available within walking distance ? I heard that the northern part of the loch is beautiful in a boat ride, is it possible to get there from the coach stop ? thank you very much

Trains every 30 mins connect from Glasgow to Balloch. Journey time about 40 mins. You won't "tour around the loch on foot in a day" as the loch is 22 miles long and about 5 miles wide at the southern end. Depends how... More
