This is an odd attraction for Glasgow. The Kingston Bridge is a well-known part of the M8 motorway in Glasgow and the busiest bridge in Europe, carrying over 150k cars everyday over the River Clyde. The bridge is a singled arched bridge spanning the entire 150m width of the river.

It's also vehicle bridge only and I've driven over it many times. Unless your car has broken down, you're likely to be paying attention to the motorway than admiring the views. The bridge isn't much to look at even when walking along the river as it's little more than a giant and plain concrete bridge.

Why review a motorway flyover? If you are passing by on the southside you have the majestic Victorian era Scottish Co Op building at 95 Morrison Street to gawp at. On the northside is the fantastic street art dipicting competitive swimming. The River Clyde walkway on either side offers great views and if you are driving over the bridge the views are even better.

What a load of rubbish - look underneath and see all the strengthening - what an example of pure British rubbish. Beautiful design that wants to fall down. Watch it look at it drive over it and enjoy the view over the Clyde. Dont spend too long here you will die of exhaust poisening. Underneath is desperate - well done Glasgow for having uch a filtyh badly kept area.

Anyone joining the motorway needs to have their wits about them as many cars are forced to change lanes on the bridge itself. At the south end a problem with cars veering off the bridge existed but seems to have been fixed with better surface adhesion. At the north end again a lot of changing lanes takes place and a few odd junction soff. Don't look below as it has Meccano-like repairs / strengthening! A pity that it dominates the fine Victorian old Co-op building.

When it opened the traffic was very light and it was a pleasure to use it. Today it is more like a race track with jams at rush hours and cars jumping from lane to lane.
Now always seems to be busy but still doing a good job nearly 50 years on.

It's an ugly concrete bridge, but it keeps the traffic flowing (mostly), and Glasgow would grind to a halt without it.

It opened in the early 70's, and it has always seemed to be being repaired for as long as I can remember.

It is a vital component of the M8, and as such is always chaotic at rush hour.

Glasgow is a major headache to traverse from south to north as we travel onwards to Stirling, except that the M8 motorway runs through the centre of the city, so easing the stress of navigating through a major city.
The Kingston Bridge sweeps you across the Clyde and gives you impressive views of the riverside parts of the city.

We came to Glasgow by car in the morning from the airport, crossing this bridge. The view was really nice. You can see the River Clyde and the other bridges.
The first glimpse of Glasgow for us very positive. :-)

This is the main bridge over the Clyde. However please avoid this route during rush hour times as it becomes whacky races with cars swapping lanes at high speed.
