Beautiful Cathedral

Beautiful Cathedral! Lovely to walk around and the basement area with the tombs is huge. Lots of places to explore and the kids enjoyed it.

I tend to like cathedrals more when they are in the fabric of the city. This one although interesting, was a longish and dull walk from Georges Sqaure and Buchanan St. Best part of visit was going up to walk the Necropolis after.

The cathedral is definitely worth a visit, particularly on a sunny day as the walk along Cathedral Street and then down to the river is pretty nice. Plenty to visit in the church as well and all is very thoroughly explained.

I don't know if it was the weather of the day I went to visit or because it was closed, but the cathedral seemed a bit creepy and isolated although the view from the Necropolis - right next to the cathedral - is nice.

This is an interesting building which at one time housed three congregations. Worth visiting when in Glasgow. We liked the underground part for children. All the stone and wood is impressive and the area around the cathedral is nice for a walk around.

Glasgow Cathedral is an enormous church with many different chapels inside. It's a really dark, tall and very impressive church.

Step into the area surrounding the Cathedral and you'll feel like you've walked into a walt disney set - everything from old paved paths melting into green lush grass, old gravestones cracked and barely discernable, gnarled trees buckled over headstones and a dominating cathedral leering at anyone who walks within its shadow. The vibes here are alternative, great for people... More
