Very pretty building

Slap bang in the middle of the city. Beautiful building! We wanted to take a tour but it was starting too late for us and we wanted to go eat first.

There are marble columns and arches, mosaic tile floors, inlaid glass windows. This a working building, so you only have access to the first floor, but it worth the time to go through what it open to the public.

Well worth the price of admission (free)! The 45 minute tour is extremely informative. You even get to sit in the Lord Provost's chair!

The wit and knowledge of our guide Claire enhanced the quality of the tour. A fascinating building with an interesting history.

We did the tour of the chambers the person leading the tour was very well informed and she also made sure everyone could understand her. The halls in the chambers are magnificent and have to be seen to be appreciated. We even got to sit in the Lord Mayors chair. These tours are free of charge which is an added... More

Treat yourself and visit this amazing building. It's a quick tour, but the inside is simply beautiful. Packed with marble and the 1 Million piece mosaic that covers their ceiling. Great exeprience!

Have been many times while on vacation from Canada. We can in December this time and the place was all done up for Christmas, looked amazing! Would recommend everyone go see at least once while there especially if you are there when it is decorated for Christmas.

Two tours each day at 10.30am and 2,30pm for free, just turn up. Our guide, Clare, was excellent gave the right amount of history to keep us interested, told with humour and a great deal of knowledge. Unfortunately we were only able to see the Banqueting Hall and Portrait Gallery but these areas were fantastic. The 3 storey staircase made... More

We visited on a day when there was a meeting, so we were unable to see the whole.. Access was restricted to the ground floor .This was magnificent, You can see that Glasgow was a great city of the empire. The ceilings are mosaics.
