Stopped here on The Wee Food Tour and were treated to some great candy treats. I loved the Maroon Cake. Out of this world good. The store is pretty much the same as it was a generation a ago and the owner is absolutely lovely. Well worth a visit!

Stopped by as it was a place on the Hop-On-Hop-Off bus tour. Got some old candies and was happy to experience the yummy taste of a new type of candy.

I found the shop very nice with typical, very good quality and tasty sweets. The stuff were very welcoming and kind. They helped me to find the best mix of candies!

Coming from Northern Ireland, my taste in sweets was a lot like the Scots. Many memories of childhood specialities that would be scorned by heath conscious parents nowadays. Soak up the atmosphere of a proper sweet shop, which is a hundred miles from an aisle in a supermarket. This shop is a gem in an otherwise run down part of... More

Had a talk by Irene and Julie who ARE Glickmans. Fantastic to hear about this very old Glasgow family sweetshop that has survived for well over 100 years and still makes their own sweets. Didn't realise I'd been in it often as a teenager, as my dental records will prove! Well done ladies, great shop, great talk and great sweeties!

Glickman's sweetie shop brings back memories from my childhood in Glasgow during the 1960's and the type of sweeties that i grew up eating and seem to be hard to find now so it's well worth the short walk to go to the shop when you are in Glasgow and i can't thank julie enough for the help i had... Just by a stop on the "hop on hop off" bus tour. Great to visit an old style sweet shop with many familiar and not so familiar goodies. Mum and daughter who run the place were really welcoming and we had great fun with them. Dangerous for the waistline :)

We popped in to Gickman's sweet shop, a place I remember from when I was a wee girl and my dad would allow me to get a quarter of something after a morning spent wandering round the Barras at the weekend. Was delighted to find a few Irn. Bru sweetie options for my kids to take back to their school... More

Glickman's is a small candy store with old fashioned sweets and home made Scottish favourites such as tablet and macaroon cake. It's currently run by the 3rd and 4th generation of the Glickman family and they are more than happy to have a chat about the history of the shop, when you stop by. They're well known for their different... More

Heard so much about the place , looks big from the outside , but quite small inside, none of the staff/owners looked particularly happy , the choice was ok, but better sweet shops in Barras ...home made sweets were ok
