Four of us had a lovely lunch here last Monday. The restaurant was reasonably quiet to start off but quickly filled up with no loss of smart, friendly assured service. Two of us had starters - soup, the rest held out for mains and sweets. We then had seabass with asparagus, risotto and crab ciabatta with salad and fries. Two... More

What an amazing place. We took the subway to Ibrox and walked to the park which is about 15 minutes. The house is magnificent and the audio tour very informative. The cafe was excellent. As a scone expert it's one of the best ever! The gardens are lovely but as it was raining heavily we gave them a miss! Definitely... More

We celebrated a family dinner recent at the House of an art lover and we couldn't fault it. The staff were tremendous, so helpful and patient. The food was delicious and plentiful. The whole dinner experience was second to none. We wouldn't hesitate to go back. The only issue we had related to parking due to the fact that fans... More

Visited on a sunny Sunday morning. House was quiet and the vision of the furniture and the building is exhilerating. Music room and Dining romm just have to be seen. Recommend the trip to every one who has an interest in Rennie MaCintosh

Amazing to be able to walk in a historical atmosphere of two great designers. In the Mackintosh house we were hardly allowed to open our eyes but here you can even sit on the furniture and play the piano. Very impressive and recommended next visit after the Mackintosh house. Garden with art was less impressive but nice to walk through.... More

Because of a busy schedule and a train to catch, I had less than an hour to visit this but was so pleased I took the time to do it. The house is in the centre of a large park just off the motorway. The park is well maintained and the gardens surrounding the house are stunning and have a... More

The 'House for an Art Lover' is based on an unsuccessful 1901 Competition Design by Charles Rennie Mackintosh with his wife, Margaret MacDonald. The building wasn't constructed until the 1990s, and then as a visitor attraction: it is used for art exhibitions, weddings, celebrations, etc. having a very good restaurant on the ground floor. We'd visited most of the other... More

Thank-you for your detailed comments Theo, we are so pleased that you finally made it along for a visit and were not disappointed! The building really has been created by the energy and passion of Mackintosh experts who have faithfully interpreted his 1901 designs. Even better as a "reconstruction" our guests are able to interact with the furniture and fittings,... More

Really enjoyed walking about this house and enjoying the flavor of Rennie Mackintosh. We are covering more and more of his properties and love all of them. He had such a talent way ahead of his time.

The staff team helped us plan and celebrate a 90th birthday party for 36 guests. Their helpfulness avoided any stress in organising such an event. We hired The View which provided a dining room, lounge and a terrace with garden furniture. The building has easy parking and a lift up to the third floor. The toilets, including a disabled toilet...
