Auchentoshan is a great way to visit a Scotch distillery without access to a car, as they're a short walk from the train out of Glasgow. The tour was as you'd expect from any standard distillery tour, a walk through the process and a view...More

We turned up on Sunday and was allowed to tag on to a booked tour of German ladies and gentlemen. Our tour guide Stevie was able to converse in both English and German. He obviously knew his stuff but was able to make it sound...More

Enjoyed the tour of a whiskey distillery -- was interesting and sufficiently detailed to enlighten us with how the Scotch whiskeys are made. Since we could not travel to the Highlands, where most of the famous distilleries are located, this was a fair alternative. The...More

Attended a tour as part of a study visit. Informative host (Craig) talked about ingredients and process in an engaging way. Finished with a taste of one of the brands. Small, friendly and worth the fee.

Very impressed. Much better than anticipated. Right amount of detail on the manufacturing process, plenty of fine whisky including an excellent cask pour. Our guide Craig was outstanding. Five stars.

There is a short introductory film in the visitor area, that is best watched before the tour. Our guide (Craig) did a great job despite an overly large group with several languages being spoken. The tour concludes with a tasting for those of drinking age....More

Is it possible to visit the distillery and do a tasting in the visitor's lounge/bar for a fee or have to take a tour? Thanks!

I don't know is the simple answer. However they are very customer friendly, so I would either email them using the link for the tour, or call them.
