As it is now closed to the public sadly this is no longer an option to visit. When it was open it was a lovely place to lunch and sit in the garden if open.

Good news for once the house has been taken over and will be run by the Firestation initiative who have made a good job of turning the old fire station into an art gallery and cafe. I think the opening will coincide with the opening...More

After a wander around Pittencrieff Park or the Abbey/castle this is the best coffee shop in Dunfermline. Decent coffee and great cakes

Dunfermline needs this tourist attraction to reopen. It is,arguably, the oldest house in this historic town.In the shadow of the Abbey,it was the Benedictines administrative HQ.The 1992 excavation dated the house with its tracery windows as 1460.Certainly it survived the Great Fire of Dunfermline in 1624.The excavation...More

What a shame the Abbot House closed down earlier this year. It was a most interesting place to visit not to mention the cafe and brewery? Let's hope someone will see fit to raise the money to reopen this fascinating walk back in time?

I had marked this as poor...its now closed. Food wasn't great, neither was service. On reflection this expereince was in line with the indictaion that the centre was not going to continue to be open so possibly no buy in from staff at that point.

Disgusting that the most historic building in Dunfermline and one of the best in Scotland should have closed its doors on the 15th of August, while Fife council build a modern museum and cafe next door!

This is an interesting house and it has a lovely coffee bar and cafe. You can eat in the gardens with a view of Dunfermline Abbey. It is also useful for a toilet visit after a trip to the palace which has no facilities.
