Colin's two hour tour helps to put the Rebus novels in context. As well as visiting some of the sites included in Rankin's books, Colin includes some historical background to Edinburgh. The tour of the backstreets away from the main tourist areas means that you...More

Had a great tour with Colin. Saw many of the settings for the Ian Rankin books. Colin's readings and dry wit helped create the Rebus atmosphere. a great 2 hours finishing at an iconic Edinburgh pub - the Royal Oak (where Ian Rankin occasionally pops...More

Colin the guide clearly knew his stuff - there were loads of little details I found really interesting. He was very humerus, kept us laughing and engaged for the whole tour. If you're a Rebus fan this is a must!

Being a massive fan of Ian Rankin and Inspector Rebus, I just had to book this tour on a recent visit to Edinburgh. It was a fascinating insight into the world of Rebus and Ian Rankin himself. I found Colin very knowledgeable and not just...More

Reading through all the reviews quite clearly different people like different things. This tour is not expensive at £10 per head but I found it hard work nonetheless. There was no attempt to get to know the group, or encouragement for them to get to...More

The presentation style does not suit everyone. Finding out more about the group and talking to them between stops would improve this tour. The information about the history of Edinburgh, and background literature was interesting. Some introduction to what was ahead, at the start of...More

We came across this via Google and could not resist a tour that included readings and places from the Inspector Rebus books by Ian Rankin. The 2 hours flew by and we had a wonderful time. We will now be able to picture several of...More

have long been transitional neighbourhoods with a
mixed identity. It’s here that Edinburgh’s gay village
found a home in the 1980s. But gay culture is anything
but overt along bustling epicentre Broughton Street;
even if polished pubs, hip bistros, smart delis and
art galleries all speak of affluent good taste. The
