Wonderful little market with an impressive selection considering the miniature size of it. Plenty of seasonal fruits and vegetables, as well as a number of local preserves and other products. I very much enjoyed it, but wished it would have been larger.

It seems all of Edinburgh markets are wee small. Just 10 produce stands. Kind of a dissapointment. Plan other activity's instead of markets.

My wife and I love going to farmer's markets when we travel. We are fortunate enough to have a year round market a few miles from our home and the vendors are all local people with fresh items. The number of vendors at a market...More

This market is relatively small. The selection of products is medium. We enjoyed cheese, charcuterie, fruits and vegetables plus bread and and fruit tart. Relatively expensive, especially charcuterie, even the cheese was at exactly same price as on Royal Mile. The opportunity for warm food...More

Yes, this farmers’ market is small. BUT WHAT A QUALITY!!! This lovely rye bread - a little left piece has been laying for 13 days and there’s no mould at all. A white loaf with raisins, fennel and poppy seeds - such a great taste....More

I've been to more than my share of Farmer's markets in anywhere from big cities to rural cities and not to sound rude, but this "market" is a joke. They have about 10-20 vendors taking up half a block on a strip of pavement outside...More

Not quite what I expected. It is rather a small area with a limited array of items for sale. Still the views down onto it are quite good.

Living locally I often pop to the farmers' market on a Saturday morning. There's a good buzz and a variety of different produce on offer. If seafood is your thing get there early as the stock is beautifully fresh and attracts a lot of buyers....More

I'm staying just off the Grassmarket, so this particular farmer's market was just a very short walk away - and well worth the trip. It's not huge, and you'll be able to browse all the stalls in just 20 minutes or so. While the selection...More

West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in
industrial Britain had their most desirable
neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes.
Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest
citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind
grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel
crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and
sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along
