Get a bus or taxi. Head to "The Shore" for a walk. OK it has a rough edge but what port doesn't. Lots of very good places to eat and drink. Something new opens each year.

We spent a week in one of the new dockside apartments that have sprung up during the regeneration of the area over the last 20 years. We used Leith as a base to explore Edinburgh during the festival - accommodation prices in this area are...More

We walked to Leith from our apartment in Stockbridge, and it was a pleasant walk through woods and along the river. The walks along the waterfront in Leith are also very pleasant, but it is clear that the area is becoming increasingly gentrified. There are...More

We spent four days staying in this lovely place. We used it as our base when we went into the city. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express and caught the bus right outside the hotel. Also the number 200 which is the express bus...More

What a fantastic place to stay, lots to see and do. Plenty of bars and restaurants around. Hidden gems, nooks and crannies by the water. A convenient location for exploring Edinborough. The number 22 bus, brilliant value.

Leith is a suburb of Edinburgh. As other people have said - if you have limited time then don't bother with Leith. I think I would put it a little stronger. With Edinburgh's attractions just down the road, then there is little reason to come...More

It was delightful spending time by the sea in this lovely area. We enjoyed walking around and particularly along the Shore. A fine Memorial to Merchant Seamen lost at sea has bas-reliefs of numerous nautical activities such as on the lookout, plotting a course and...More

Leith is the old maritime center of Edinburgh, so it is an historical place and still an important place especially in order to load or unload passengers or cargo

Formerly red light area and docklands with a mixture of funky original pubs and new gastropubs, fish and chip shops and the great Harburn Hobbies, centre for model railway enthusiast, as I was.

Hi, Cost would be around £20. Thre is also an airport bus that goes to Proces St and then a bus to Leith No 16 which would be cheaper but longer time and depends how much luggage you have.

Hi, Fishers gets quite a good name for good food and is on the stretch leading to Malmaison hotel. There are two Michelin Star restaurants here as well. Tom Kitchin and Martin Wisherts both are booked up well in advance but... More

Leith is quite a big area with one if it's borders right near the centre so it could be anywhere from £5-15 depending also in the day (surcharges apply late at night and on weekends). If you download the Uber app it gives... More
