Edinburgh Zoo is set in 82 acres of sloping parkland and is situated three miles to the west of Edinburgh city centre. It is home to over 1,000 rare and endangered animals, including chimpanzees, sun bears, Indian Rhinos, the UK's only koalas and the first Giant Pandas in the UK for 17 years. You can experience a busy programme of educational events and activities from keeper talks to hands-on animal encounters. There is also a wide-range of eating experiences, several play areas and a fantastic gift shop.Viewing for the Giant Pandas is free but ticketed.(Included with entry fee) To avoid disappointment we are advising all visitors to pre-book their tickets through our website to guarantee viewing. Panda viewing tickets must be booked at the same time as you buy your entry ticket.

We went on a rainy day (booked online and weren't flexible) and I have to admit; before entering the zoo, I doubted to see even one single animal. Fortunately, we were proven so wrong and actually had a great time. Almost no other visitors, no...More

Well this is a short and sweet review. The animals were great with a varied variety and easy to see. Great to see the Panda and Kolala's for example. The map was informative but not to scale as some exhibits are not exactly where they...More

We were invited to the zoo to attend The Family Dream Night. It was great fun and all the kids really enjoyed it. A lot of the animals were sleeping but there was so much to see and do. The apes were our favourites and...More

I was at the Edinburgh Fringe and decided to spend a half day at the zoo, I took the no 100 bus from Waverly(Edinburgh) station, £1.60 single. Reading recent TA reviews I think a few facts need to be spelled out. The zoo is built...More

I came to this zoo not really expecting much as we come from North Wales and about 10 minutes away from Chester Zoo and not much lives up to that. I was totally impressed, what a gorgeous setting and beautiful maintained zoo! The staff clearly...More

What a terrible zoo, animals that are hard to see especially the panda who did not make an appearance today anytime before we left (maybe he came out after 2pm) I'm told by the keeper that he didn't come out on Saturday at all! No...More

Thank you for leaving us your comments regarding your recent visit. With regard to your comment about the number of animals you saw this is something that is not totally within our control as the animals are not deliberately forced to stay in any one...More

Hi, if you live really close by it is probably worth it as it has some play areas and you would stand more chance of seeing the panda if you go more often. I wouldn't drive a long way to go there again though. Best test it... More
