What a delightful little place this is.... I lived in Edinburgh for many years, and never gave this place much thought, but it is very picturesque and being able to walk along the Water of Leith is great too. Fabulous for taking pictures if you...More

In the heart of the New Town the Dean Village is a lovely walk next to the Water of Leith. Very picturesque location and great for taking photo's of the fantastic architecture.

This area is quaint, and is worth a visit if you have several days. I wouldn't suggest it being at the very top of your things to see if you don't have several days though.

We walked to Dean Village from Edinburgh Castle. The river, waterfalls, and greenery made for a peaceful oasis away from the tourists and traffic.

Dean Village is a wonderful little gem in the heart of Edinburgh. It's worth it to take a few hours to walk along the paths that run next to the river. Very picturesque.

This is definitely a hidden gem to get away from the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh. Start at the top of the hill and walk along a river. It felt great to get out into nature.

This is a delightful break from the bustle of Edinburgh...easy walk from old town or new town. Few amenities but a beautiful small spot. Recommend it highly

There's not too much to see here as it's just a little village, but it's really beautiful, especially on nice day. It's lovely to just stand on the bridge, watch the ducks swim past and take some "Instagrammable" photos! Very peaceful and really close to...More

Stockbridge & Dean Village
Just downhill of New Town and attractively straddling
a river near the elegant Royal Botanic Garden, it’s
small wonder that Stockbridge became one of the city’s
first hip neighbourhoods. It’s now one of Edinburgh’s
most desirable, though many bohemian touches have
fallen away as its residents have matured and the area
has gentrified. Some second-hand shops cling on, but
mostly residents display refined tastes in basement
