Very very busy had to line up for paying to get in line up for most of the exhibit it was a Sunday and missed out on the one o’clock gun going off

The huge rock upon which stands the mighty Edinburgh Castle. You can see how this is such a great vantage point over the city and its approaches.

This place can be seen from many areas of the city. Imposing and beautiful, it's a must see and a nice start if you're visiting Edinburgh.

Mobs of tourists on a sunny afternoon were processed efficiently through ticketing and though crowded, the place was a must-see.

The rock upon which the Edinburgh Castle is built is an ancient volcanic cone. The best views of the rock and the castle upon it are from Princess Street Gardens. Take a walk and imagine life in this place 400 years ago!

This area is packed full of history and great views. Pay special attention to the small dog cemetery that is off to the side...very touching. The interior areas are great. Excellent views of the city. There are some steep inclines to walk, so wear comfortable...More

It won't be wrong to say that Edinburgh's history and places of interest are all lined up along the Royal Mile. The Castle Rock is one such classical example. There is a hefty entrance fee but then the price you pay would surely leave you...More

The rock would be impressive even without the castle, but it feels the castle is giving the rock more spotlight. I especially enjoyed the view from the New Town.
