The tour was great, with many stops at very beautiful and interesting places. For instance, we loved Lock Katrine and the stop where we saw the cows. The time we had to enjoy each place was short, but it was reasonable since the tour is for one day. The guide's explanations in the bus were detailed and helped us learn... More

We decided to do this tour even though we had already booked another tour thru a different company during our trip. They hit mostly different destinations so we figured it would be worth it. We were right. Paddy was a joyful guide and the "pay what you think the trip is worth" part really appealed to our tight budget. I... More

The free tour is actually 100% absolutely free and worth just as much if not more than all the other charging tours of the Highlands. Amazing, would recommend to anyone that has the chance to support such an amazing concept

We had a great time! All of the sites were beautiful. Ryan, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and friendly. If you're thinking about doing a tour with them, I recommend you do!

Our guides name was Ryan! He was fantastic! He knows Scottish history like the back of his hand and has a great sense of humor! We were able to go to places we otherwise wouldn't have been able to. It was well worth it. We will definitely go on the other tours when we get back to Edinburgh. Would recommend... More

Our guide don (not to be confused with Donald) really made the trip. He was funny, engaging and attentive. His constant chatter made the drive go by really fast. I would love to go on his isle of sky tour he mentioned!

The tour was fun! A great way to cram as much of the highlands in as possible. Our tour guide was Don, and he was a funny, informative, and empathetic driver. Upon reviewing the worst reviews and comparing it to my experience, either a LOT has changed (which means they listened to the reviews) or these people have an object... More

Their website says that people who didn't register for the tour can show up at the tour departure time, and any available seats will be given on a first come first serve basis. I showed up half an hour early before the tour started, and I was the first to arrive. Behind me were a couple who also did not... More

Hi hellocouscous, I'm very disappointed to read your review of our business, especially since it seems that although you obviously wished to do so, you didn't actually book or experience our tours in any way. You are correct that on our website it does indeed suggest that for tours that are already full to capacity, if people wish to do... More

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
