This review isn't actually about Slesdor Gardens but the area to the south of it towards the River Tay. It lies next to South Crichton Street and next to the V+A. It has water features, sand pit, bicycle shop, toilets, cafe and easily cycling connecting to both Riverside and the docks area. During warm sunny weather it's a marvelous place to go. The coffee from the kiosk is excellent and I've been told their bagels and donuts are superb. It is very family friendly and has seats as well a limited number of car parking spaces. Expensive though for 4 hours. The only problem is it's never cleaned as often as it should be. It was expensive to build but once built like a lot of things in Dundee the maintenance is lacking. If they clean it once a day I'd be surprised. The walkways and sitting areas are stained with coffee and other drinks. The sand in the pit is left to pile up to one end due to the action of the wind and the toilets at times are disgusting. Fair enough it's not the councils fault people can be slovenly but they need to keep it clean and maintained. If that means cleaning twice or three times a day so be it. C'mon Dundee be proud of what you have and keep it clean and tidy.

Just off the waterfront, next to the V & A, Slessor Gardens is a green space near the city centre. I especially liked the individual gardens each based on themessuch as a Caribbean garden, a North American garden and a Baltic garden. There is also a huge modern sculpture of a whale, and a city beach with sand. Popular with office workers as a lunch stop.

Smallish gardens not far from the V&A museum.
Part of them (the lawn) was a tad crowded but the semi-private benches were lovelier.

Music excellent. Overcrowded. Under secured. Drunks everywhere. Bars, toilets and vendors an absolute nightmare. Accident waiting to happen. Gold enclosure, ? Now that’s a laugh. Venue only fit for perhaps 8,000 not the 12,000 they say it can hold.
Ground uneven. What I saw of the bar area was just plain scary. Even security was trapped amongst it unable to move. Tim Booth even commented on how much the crowd drunk. Organisers really need to give themselves a good shake, especially on max crowds. I was ok, and it was an experience but I’ll never be back. I’ve seen James play 39 times from the 80s through to now and this was easily the worst managed -shambles - I’ve ever seen. In fact at any concert/gig, yup !!

Attended our 3rd Slessor Gardens concert this year and on this occasion with friends from Arbroath.
Great to have a return to normality and see folks smiling faces once again.

First time visit here on a beautiful sunny day. Had a walk through Slessor Gardens . There is the V &A to visit. Enjoy a beer/coffee/ice cream/bagel from the food vendors. Visit the boat Discovery. Have a luvly walk by the Tay, see the Dundee Whale also watch happy families with children enjoying the sand pit and water spray area. Hire a bicycle if you fancy riding the cycle route. Toilets also there. Walk round to City Quay area. Visit the Unicorn boat. visit the inflatable area. Very impressed with the area. Worth a visit :)

Was kinda underwhelming I’m not going to lie to the people of trip advisor. Everything was soooo overpriced, drinks, food, and tickets are way out of a students budget such as mine. We decided we would splash out on the big wheel and unfortunately my girlfriend had a panic attack due to the extreme heights. This made the experience rather uncomfortable and I would not recommend.
On the positive side there was a cute pug on the wheel that powered through the ride unlike my girlfriend.

We came by Slessor Gardens after taking a late evening stroll on the waterfront.

There is a supermarket nearby and a main road.

It is a public area that has been turned into a green space. Music events are held in the summer. Although not in the summer we visited.

Wed took a walk through the gardens and enjoyed the scenery.
