Stunning views, beautiful countryside and a surprise at the summit. The most tranquil loch. It is a very steep climb, take your time, and keep going the loch at the top is worth the effort. You do need to be physically fit and wear proper walking footwear, it can be a little muddy in places and slippy.

Took a drive from Moffat to the Grey Mares Tail and on to Peebles, Well I have to say We didn't do the Climb up to see the Waterfall, as it was December and we are OLD. But it looked pretty good from the bridge. The drive to it was lovely, though the road is very twisty/turny, the views and... More

Whilst this waterfall is not likely to be memorable in comparison to many others. The area surrounding the waterfall including Loch Skeen above it and the road leading up to it are simply stunning.

I did this a couple of weeks ago with some mates. Was a bit daunting standing at the bottom of the Grey Mare's Tail waterfall looking up as the route, but our instructor did a great job of explaining the essentials as well as providing encouragement when needed The climb gives stunning views of the waterfall and the surrounding country... The car park is fairly small and I would have liked it to be free as the only alternative is parking on the side of the very narrow road. The climb is pretty well established and affords wonderful views of the falls and surrounding area. If climbers climb to the top they are also rewarded with views of the loch... More

A lovely waterfall to see in some beautiful countryside. You can get a very nice view of the waterfall from the car park, but there a couple of other viewing places where you get a better view. There are two paths, the one on the left takes you about halfway up the waterfall and the one on the right takes... More

Worth the 15 minute drive and the short walk to see the falls. Would try again in summer when we could do one of the longer walks

A fine waterfall easy to view roughly stoned track due to landslip/risk of a barier has been placed on the path you get a fair view but don't feel the energy of the falls.

This is picture perfect and it gets better the higher you walk. A most to go to the tarn on the top just for the peace and serility. Highly recommend taking a picnic and make the must of the scenery. Birds and wildlife aplenty a little bit of everything in a wonderful setting. Car park charge at the bottom but... More
