Visited today whilst in Melrose. The garden felt rather neglected although I appreciate this is part of managing for wildlife! It was a good time to visit for garden produce and we did purchase some of the unusual heritage apples. I think what disappointed most was that I remembered Priorwood as being somewhere that specialised in growing cut flowers for drying but it seems this part of the garden's history no longer exists, there being just a few annual helichrysums about as a reminder. Its a pity as it would have given Priorwood that touch of individuality which it now lacks.

Thank you for your feedback and timed it well for apples. We acknowledge your comments on the dried flowers and this has not been a feature at the property for approximately 5 years now; however, that said we have commenced dried flowers workshops and some of the beds in the garden will have relevant flowers and plants to support our workshops and future vision for the garden. Kind regards

Lovely little garden behind a wall in the centre of town. Nice little haven to walk around and also some seats.

I felt the orchard was suffering from post-covid stress. It seemed rather scruffy and somewhat neglected, with some trees unlabelled or with broken labels - this is not good for a Heritage Collection.

Thank you for your feedback and the areas you have perceived as not not being managed are part of the process for our wild habitat and flowers and having mown paths through the orchard trees; sorry this was not to your liking. We also acknowledge your comments on tree identification and we are purchasing equipment to utilise cut branches to have new matching labels on all our orchard trees. Kind regards

The garden is next door to the abbey and provides nice views of the abbey. Peaceful setting and interesting to follow the paths around the orchard and the woodland.

What a delight! My teenage children thoroughly enjoyed exporing the orchard with its willow sculpures of horses, stags and deer. They also investigated all the different varieties of heritage apples.

This is extremely underrated. This garden is almost perfect. There is lots if apple trees which are set out beautifully but you can’t pick them though. Love it.

Lockdown lifted and we were in the area so popped in to Priorwood gardens. These are small gardens just along from the abbey. A one way system and hand sanitizer were in place. Nice plants out and interesting wicker sculptures. A pleasant place to visit.

Went to the gardens for apple day with my wee boy - it wasnt a wasted trip. There wasnt only just copious amounts of apples for sale, but also cakes, local honey and apple juice. In addition a few things going on including alpacas and information about wild mushrooms. National Trust staff very polite and helpful. Have been to the garden before and it's really an apple orchard with pretty flowers and areas to sit and have picnics - recommend visiting in the spring and summer months.

Garden needs a good tidy up, very little to see, not allowing dogs in is very disappointing.

Mainly an orchard with lots of apple varieties growing. Very little to see or do so glad it was free entry.
Only a few minutes from Harmony House/garden and near abbey ruins which are quite expensive to visit
