Springbank Distillery is one of the main visitor attractions in Campbeltown, Kintyre. It is one of three distilleries remaining in Campbeltown which, in the 19th century, was classed as 'The Whisky Capital of the World'. Established in 1828, Springbank is the oldest independent family owned distillery in Scotland and is the only distillery in Scotland to carry out the full production process on one site - from the traditional floor maltings through to the bottling.

Great tour. Interesting and highly informative. The only distillery in Scotland that does every step at one location. And you get to see and learn every step used. Takes about an hour. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Great atmosphere! Enjoyed the live band and special whisky tasting there. Got some local-grown fruit jam products from a retired couple. And it was sunny! Think we can't ask for more... Had a whisky tour with a senior guide called Jim :) he has a good sense of humour and rich knowledge of whisky!

Fantastic distillery! A working museum and fantastic people. Here you can understand how whisky is made because everything is done on site. Have a wee visit to the shop to buy your own unique bottle for a very reasonable price

Warehouse tasting was excellent again. Mark told lots of stories and Cameron filled in the blankets, with of course lots of jokes and true stories. The chosen whisky were interesting and we learned a lot again.

This is a small place, but all off the processes in whisky production are done on the spot, that gives you the possibility too understand the whole process, and the whisky is also extremely good.

Visited here in August of 2016 and did the premier tour where there was a party of four in total. The tour started with a meet at Cadenheads shop, where we given lunch. Scottish produce, lots of smoked fish. Be sure to get a lot of this food in you will realise why later on. After a excellent lunch, Cameron... More

We visited both Springbank and the Glengyle distillery whilst on a quick visit to Scotland. This tour is excellent. The guide Jim was such a lovely man, he really knew everything there was to know about the distillery, it's whisky range and the are. He was also relaxed and good fun.I felt like I had learned a lot by the... More

We did the tour that took in Glengyle Distillery which is next door...more whisky. Springbank was shut at the time but it was still interesting, unusually Glengyle was in operation which was also interesting. Guide was young but knew all about the process and history, worth a trip. The tours run from the nearby shop premises where you get your... More

This tour was good, but it is curious for such 'busy' distillery not to be in operation. Worth visiting if you like Springbank whisky.
