Ben Crenshaw former US Tour player and Ryder Cup Captain, once quoted a “magnificent stretch of marvellously natural ground which depicts how the game was born”. Montrose Links has been established as the 5th oldest course in the World and celebrated its 450th year in 2012. Sitting in the heart of Carnoustie Country only 1 hour away from St Andrews and Gleneagles and thirty minutes from Carnoustie itself, Montrose is an ideal base for a memorable golfing break. Local accommodation to suit is readily available. Montrose Links offers a fantastic golfing experience and reliable playing conditions throughout the year. Our classic links is complemented by our Broomfield links and together they provide an ideal 36 hole visitor day package. A warm welcome in our 3 clubs Montrose Caledonia, Montrose Mercantile and Royal Montrose is always guaranteed. Our annual Men's Open Week will be held from Monday 22nd July - Friday 26th July 2013 over the 5th oldest course in the world Montrose Medal Course. The price is only £35.00 per person for season ticket holders and £80.00 per person for non-season ticket holders. The handicap limit has been increased from 18 - 24.

If you have the opportunity then you have to play the medal course . Fantastic holes, very challenging if there is wind ( and there are).

Played the Medal course on 2nd November, sunny calm day. Front 9 very interesting, back 9 slightly less so but altogether a very enjoyable and good course. Sandwich in Royal Montrose club house afterwards, staff welcoming. Well worth a visit.

I am afraid that dogs are not allowed on the course with a golfing party. But as this is not a private course - a non- playing spectator can walk a dog on a lead.

if you're staying over search for Golf Deals in Montrose. We got a 2 night deal in one of the hotels including 3 rounds of Golf, 2 here & 1 at Broomfield for £149 ... basically the golf worked out free at this course.
