I have passed this Tower many many times and never new exactly what or why it was there. Just by chance one evening at Arbroath Docks taking photographs around the area, I caught a shot of a lovely sunset behind the tower. This gave me a push to actually go see what it was. It was a Signal Tower, now... More

We stopped at the museum as we were on holiday nearby, not sure what to expect. My husband and I both agreed it was one of the best kept and interesting museums we had been to- our four year old loved looking for the items on the scavenger hunt, and the displays were interesting for adults and children alike. The... More

Coming in through a sheltered court yard where I was able to take refuge from a keen breeze and enjoy a couple of tasty Arbroath 'smokies' at a picnic table, I then entered this intriguing museum. It is clean and warm and the young lady in reception has a welcoming smile while avidly imparting information on the Bell Rock Lighthouse... More

We were about to walk past and luckily decided to go in. So glad we did as learnt so much about The Bell Lighthouse. About an hour is enough time to take in the 2 floors of small rooms filled with great historic information and artefacts.

Very very interesting. The film provided was excellent. And we could even see the Bell rock lighthouse.

A good way to spend 1 to 2 hours.full of interesting things about Arbroath.the school classroom brought back happy memories.very interesting facts about the bell rock .not very suitable for someone who needs help walking as there are a few stairs .but certainly worth a visit.

This museum is free to enter but is closed at the beginning of the week. It provides a very interesting history of the building of the lighthouse and of the men who worked there. Unfortunately you are not allowed to access the top of the tower for safety reasons but there is plenty to keep you occupied with DVD's running... More

I have a lighthouse obsession, with the Bell Rock being my biggest obsession. I once hired a boat and sailed out there just to look at it. It was surprising therefore that I had never gone to the on shore part of it. The museum tells the story of the Bell Rock, the problems it caused and the story of... More

The Signal Tower was given a refresh in 2011 and provides an insight into the building of lighthouses , in particular the Bell Rock and those who kept the lights on throughout the years. There is lots to see , lots of interesting information on the fishing community and the town of Arbroath. Well worth a visit.
