Absolute stunning mysterious walk! Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and all the lovely scenery on the way. We did think some parts could have been better sign posted but not a major problem as made it more fun and exciting! When you reach a bridge it's misleading where to go next tried a couple routes but turned back then took another and... More

It was a great family walk with the dog even after a rainy morning. Not as muddy as expected, has a good path, the castle was a surprise & the walk to the river was better than expected. would do it again.

Nice walk with lovely scenery. Bit muddy after recent rain and steep in places but should be fine in summer.

We thought we would go for a wee hour long wander late one afternoon. It turned into a two hour long magical mystery tour with not knowing where we were meant to be going, wrong turns, walking through looming cows and losing our way as the light was disappearing. Only wearing sneakers and with no mobile reception and the place... More

Lovely walk to the castle ruins, about 30 mins with two young toddlers in tow but good paths and gorgeous scenery, well worth a visit

Gight Wood lies on the steep, south facing slopes of the Ythan valley, forming the easternmost part of a series of woodlands and river grasslands. Brooding over the woods at the downstream end is the ruin of Gight Castle, once the family home of Lord Byron. From the carpark on the Methlick to Fyvie road its a pleasant walk through... More

Nice walk very pleasant on a nice day work a visit if your in the area. The walk passes castle runes then runs down along the river which is nice.

Have visited here with family. It's a great place for a good trek. The scenery in parts is stunning. It's quite a long walk but my 3 year old grandson can do it and loves it. Can be tricky walking in parts so strong footwear best. haven't been for a while so have to go again soon.
