Uff it is so boring to live here in Aberdeen where even stupid monument is "amazing". It is located in center of Aberdeen (everything here is in the center of the city as all city is only one street) so if you get here there is no chance you miss it.

Statue at a busy junction in the centre of Aberdeen. Benches and steps around it are popular waiting spots if meeting someone in town. Unfortunately it is also a favourite spot for street buskers, some of which are unlistenably bad.

A most dignified rendition of the late King. Without any modernist features so the statue deserves clearly five stars.

Lived in Banchory for 3 years (in Wales now) didn't go into Aberdeen very often, but always looked for the statue to see if the guy playing the bagpipes was there. Nice statue as statues go....... Makes a good landmark.

If you're in the city centre of Aberdeen, specifically on its main artery Union Street you will inevitably see this statue. So, the good news you don't have to go out of your way to see it. If statues of royal personages is your thing, then there it is: Edward VII on a plinth holding a sword and an orb... More

This is a large statue on Union St and unless you were really interested in Edward VII you could quite happily pass it by without a second glance. My husband still took a photograph of it.

Aberdeen's city centre has a diverse range of sculptures. These range from traditional to contemporary and fill remembrance, memorial and commemoration, functions as well as expression of ideas. Some promote a serious message, however, this, whilst being very imposing, doesn’t appear to do much other than form a point of note. Nevertheless it’s an impressive statue (amongst the many in... I don't think that the statue is one of the top attractions of the city, just a decent statue nothing more. During my stay in Aberdeen I didn't go for it I just found it by chance walking through the streets of downtown. All in all it's worth stopping for a few minutes, but nothing else from this location near... More
