Steeped in history Londonderry is well worth a visit. The locals seem so proud of their history. It is worth taking your time - walking the wall and reading the history along the way.

It is great to find that Derry has balanced the car with pedestrian needs; lots of parking and plenty of pedestrian areas in the town. Be warned, however, that there are patrolling a great number of red-coated parking wardens and very poor signage of the parking regulations.

I'm told its just 1 mile walk round the complete walls . You should do the tour which takes in all the history about Derry and why these walls were built.

We spent half a day wandering around Derry/Londonderry and it was very pleasant. We started off going to the local tourist information office for a map and orientation. I regret that my wife and I didn't stay longer in Londonderry/Derry and that I didn't read more about the city before I got there. So much to see and such a interesting history. It is now my favorite city in North Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

We done this tour when we first arrived in Derry which was sensible as we learnt about he history of Derry, before doing the Bogside Tour.John our guide was interesting, informative and a must for newcomers. Great value for money £4.00 with a free drink at the cafe after. strongly recommend.

A visit to Londonderry/Derry wouldn't be a visit unless youv'e walked right round the walls. Takes about 40 minutes to completely go right round.

The walk around the wall doesn't take long but offers an insight into the early struggles between the English and the Irish.
