I attended an award ceremony in this stunning building this week. The staff, and food we were served, were amazing. It is a historic and beautiful building and we'll worth a visit.

Guildhall has a great little museum on the first floor and the desk attendant that day, whose name escapes me, was just simply amazing. He asked each member of our group what our home state was in the US and then proceeded to tell us the state capitol. He also provided us with a little history lesson before we headed... More

We learnt a lot from the exhibition - clearly laid out and explained the history of the city well. Gorgeous building and excellent coffee shop. A must see if you are interested in knowing the story of L'Derry.

What I loved, aside from the gorgeous architecture and windows, was that thee exhibition inside focused on the history of the plantation system, the kings, queens and Gaelic lords that were involved from the 1500s to near 1700. The Guildhall has seen it all- from bombings to the Bloody Sunday inquiry to the Sippy of Culture festival its windows reflect the Guilds who developed it and it acts as a tourist starting point to the city.

The original windows had been damaged by a fire in 1908, and the replacements were blown out when the IRA bombed the building in 1972. Stephen Calderwood, who had worked with his father on... More

The exhibition on the ground floor is well detailed and is worth a in depth study. It sets the context of the city's history in the past of Ireland.
