We found this museum very interesting and well worth the £9 family entry price. You've got two museums in one really. One about Derry/Londonderry and the other on the Spanish Armada. Both equally interactive and interesting.

The info booklet you can get from the information centre let's you get 2 for the price of 1. The museum is decent sized, has a few videos and lots of information about different times throughout Northern Ireland.

Great museum with a chronological history of Derry presented with a modest (i.e. not overwhelming) set of relevant and complementary artefacts. Good short audiovisual presentations in each area to give context. A bonus was another engaging exhibition on the Spanish Armada, and in particular articles recovered from the Armada ship that sank nearby and was found in recent times.

The visit to the Tower Museum was an optional part of our city tour, and I am glad that we were able to view it. I thought it had a fair and balanced (a-political) depiction of the history of Derry. The museum really has two separate parts - one that has wonderful visual displays on the complete history of Derry,... More

We had a guided tour of the tower museum with the guide Gerry - we got a brilliant insight into Derry, its history and how it's future is shaping. We particularly enjoyed the story of "Half hung McNaugton" - when Gerry took great pleasure in scaring us all half to death :-)

Visited the tower museum when we spent the day up in Londonderry and the tour was well worth it. There is not a huge amount of artifacts but the guided tour (we had a guide called Gerry who was superb) was extremely educational and told the history of Derry from the first settlers right through to the current days. It... More

When my friend and I were in Derry recently we visited the Tower Museum. The man at the desk asked where we were from and when we said Kilkenny, he had been there the previous weekend so we compared notes, Then we went on our own around the museum. There was quite a lot of material so it took about... More

Took friends from the UK mainland there on a trip back to our home city. I am from the British rather than the Irish part of our heritage in Northern Ireland and I admit I was expecting to have to grit my teeth for huge parts of it. I was wrong, and happy to say, very wrong. The staff from... More
