A walk through the dunes to a long, sweeping beach. Lifeguards on duty July and August for swimmers. Great views of Newcastle and the Mournes. Café was good, too. Toilets well-kept.

As part of east coast towards Irish Sea there are amazingly good signs over the water towards England at clear weather. Easy to understand something about eco-system where water is storage & flow down towards sea. Narrow but easy to use roads with signs.

Situated on the lively Murlough peninsula, it provides a natural harbour for Dundrum. From the gate house, it's a lovely relaxing walk (you can actually take a circuit walk) until one eventually reaches the sand dunes and the gorgeous sandy beaches. This time if the...More

We had a lovely walk at Murlough yesterday afternoon. It was very cold and bracing but very enjoyable. Unfortunately for us the toilets were locked and we had to endure the Newcastle traffic and public toilets in a state of duress! Surely it is well...More
