Stopped at Quoile car park on 25th Aug, not really knowing what to see. So we along with our small dog (which we keep on lead) started to walk and walk 🚶‍♀️ . From car park vlose to road bridge on main Rd to Killyleagh we walked on a linear walk to Steamboat Quay, the furthest point in this direction you can walk to (I think). There is a small section of walk that is on footpath beside road, otherwise the entire walk was a very pleasent waterside walk on virtually level, well maintained paths. Fantastic views, swans and other wildlife. Walk we took passes by quoile visitor centre, though it was closed when we passed about 6pm. It had rained before our walk but that posed no issues for us. We also passed at least 2 other car parks with picnic tables along path. A fisherman in area said that access to these is road beside quoile visitor centre. ???

This is a lovely place for just ambling along the path at your own pace and enjoying the views and peacefulness.

Great picnic spot and flat trails for longer runs. Quite narrow paths so I would recommend coming during off-peak times, especially if you are bringing dogs. Lovely riverside walk and it's a great spot for kayaking and canoeing.

This nature reserve is not particularly big but provides a lovely walk along the river. There is some interpretation but could do with a bit more, especially about wildlife

Stopped here for a picnic by the water and a short riverside walk. There is definitely more to investigate here during the coming summer. Lovely peaceful area and easily accessed.

We only covered about half of the available length of riverside paths but it’s very peaceful throughout. Various spots along the river for car parking which allows you to dip in and out different sections of the path.
Plentiful swans and ducks on the water with lots of bird live around as well. We didn’t go as far as these bird hide but we’re told it’s an excellent viewpoint.

Have been visiting lots recently for my daily exercise after work. Nice for an evening walk or run. Very pretty when the sun shines. Easy to get to from Downpatrick via foot. Not too busy with other visits.

Driven by this many times but will call in from now on. A centre for wildlife learning, bursting with information and things to do, the Quoile centre is fascinating. We spent ages in this place looking at a the information and displays inside. .I kid you not! Outside are the most beautiful flower displays and bountiful butterflies and insects. The gardens are tended by local volunteers. They are small but stunning. As if that wasn't enough there are beautiful walks along the waterside. We also went up to the birdhide further up the road. We had a postcard view of birdlife with the mountains of Mourne in the background. The kids I took want to take up bird watching. It was that good. Make sure you bring your binoculars. Very helpful and friendly staff at the centre.

Very nice location, peace and quiet one would expect. We are living locally and tried to enjoy evening walks there. Unfortunately, there are a few selfish people who think they own the place having off-lead, out of control dogs running around which are pestering other people with their dogs who just try to enjoy this nice place. We will not be going there anymore, how sad!
