The Museum takes half an hour or so to look around, more if you are interested in the extensive collection of medals and memorabilia in the drawers, labelled by Campaign. The history of the Regiment is well presented on information boards, with interesting insights into the social history side (soldiers wives and family). The uniforms, equipment and weapons are in... I visited the museum in August 2016. I had been researching family history related to the First World War in general but the Royal Irish Fusilier in particular. I had sent some information in advance to the researcher so when I arrived he had all the work done for me. Mr Maguire the subject matter expert in the museum had... More

Came here by myself to waste time while my wife was shopping. For any history buff this is a must visit. It's the only time I wanted my wife to spend longer shopping. The displays and information are fantastic. Also they have real medals and the stories of the actions the brave me did to received them. It's a bit... More

I grew up in Armagh but can never recall visiting The Royal Irish Fusiliers Museum previously. Although I've now been living away from Armagh for over 20 years I do occasionally return to visit friends and family and thus today took the opportunity to call into this museum to see it. The Royal Irish Fusiliers Museum is small and covers... More

What a great little museum in the centre of Armagh, military history is one of my interests and this was right up my street. I went when there was a small dealers fair on and they even had members of a local re-enactment group talking to the public about the Irish (both North and South) who fought in Viet Nam... More

We are sorry that your visit to the museum did not meet your expectations. Our small team of staff are always busy but will try to answer any questions when approached, even within the working research/library area, however we like to give our visitors the chance to explore the museum freely, and at their own pace. We are a small... More

Fascinating facts figures and information which also includes the ordinary people of the time as well as the generals and Lords. Uniforms and artefacts reflect the time and insight into the life at the time

I took a quick tour, there was a gentleman at the reception who was very warm and informative. Would advise you spare a couple of hours since there is much to learn and 20-30 minutes are not enough....
