Armagh Public Library rivals Trinity College Library if not for size but for the quality of the exhibits. Original Handel's Messiah, Gulliver's Travels & early editions of Shakespeare. The curator and staff were approachable and very knowledgable. What was best was that I was able to handle the 'Handel's' Messiah - under supervision & with gloves on. The space is... More

Spent a wonderful hour here on Georgian day. The staff were so informative and the books both in range and age were amazing. Thank you.

Immediately something different. Clever activity sheets for all ages. A smaller version of the Old Library in Trinity College Dublin and just as grand and important. Delightful, friendly and helpful staff.

We visited here thanks to the European Heritage Day. In fact we had never heard of it. As a book-lover, my jaw dropped when i walked in! I could not believe my eyes. Floor to ceiling with old books. As a bible student, i was over the moon to see a 1611 Breached Bible in the display. The staff were... More

A small, very plain, classical building situated at the top of the hill, behind the Protestant Cathedral. You have to ring the bell for entry, but don't let this put you off as the librarian was charming and extremely welcoming. The library is upstairs and reminiscent of the great library at Trinity, although on a much smaller scale. Treasures include... More

Called in today on a whim while visiting a friend from Armagh and was greeted with the warmest of welcomes. This library is wonderful with so many secrets just waiting to be discovered. I could have spent all day here

The oldest library! So many fantastic books, and the librarian is the most knowledgeable lady ever! I even had the privilege to hold in my hands the actual drawings of the architect who had designed it! Everyone should visit this place!

Visited this library while on a short break in Armagh. Had our 9 year old daughter with us and we were initially a little concerned as we rang the bell that it was not the place to bring her! The lady inside was so welcoming and helpful. There were 2 treasure hunt trails for her to complete while we explored... More
