We visited here thanks to European Heritage Day.What a deceiving place, the exhibits are amazing! Of special note was the kind staff member who treated us like royalty. He spent ages with us and was very interesting and helpful. As a bird-watcher, i was in my element with the stuffed bird collection!

A small, neo-classical building overlooking the Mall, this museum was small but delightful. Most of the exhibits are truly local to the area- rocks, Neolithic artefacts, militaria, Viking silver, but the costumes were particularly special. There was a stunning mid-18th century dress in Spitalfields silk that looked as if it had been made yesterday. Other clothing included a child's blue... More

A small museum in a beautiful building. A bit of something for all interests. The archeological exhibits were some of the best I've seen. Having heard about the Armagh train disaster, we found the details in the Railway section. Period costumes are there, as are local birds and mammals. The exhibits are in traditional glass cabinets, but with good information... More

I have visited this Museum since childhood days! Exhibitions are of great local interest and from time to time photographic exhibitions are held. Would be easy to miss this one but take some time out and support a super local offering.

In the museum you can see the history of Armagh - from stone age to present day. I enjoyed very much the old dresses and the art exhibition. So much to see and so much to take in.

A great wee museum, on the Mall. Free to enter with excellent staff who were knowledgeable and helpful. There are a lot of local artefacts and plenty of information given on them. I liked that there were plenty of working class exhibits as these are often overlooked by other institutions.

It has been years since I visited Armagh County Museum so I thought I would return today (Friday 01/04/2016). Located on the beautiful green Mall surrounded by Georgian buildings, it's a tiny museum so an hour is enough time to explore. Entrance is free and it's open every day except Sunday. Being a county museum you'll not find dinosaur bones... More

Just back from this museum. I have often visited in years gone by but today I was taken behind the scenes. These tours can be arranged if you get in contact with the museum. Well worth a look.

Our first visit to this museum, and it didn't disappoint. From a personal viewpoint, the Castle Leslie collection was fascinating, with a wide range of pieces on display, from rare wartime material to images of Mick Jagger visiting the family in the 1960s. However, what impressed us most was the sight of the original painting, "The Old Callan Bridge" by... More
