Sandy Row is a road practically in Belfast- a street. It is a loyalist area with murals and is illustrative of the divisive culture in Northern Ireland - however it is an excellent spot to get genuine local culture and the personality of Belfast people. Visit the murals, there are not as many stores as there have been in the... More

We had a great weekend in Belfast and we visited sandy row Rangers bar and the Royal and we were made to feel more than welcome. We will be back again next year at some point.

This place is dead and nothing worth visiting it seems like the corner of town that has been forgotten about no a nice place to be walking around at night.

Parked up in Sandy Row to have a (disappointing) lunch at the nearby Holiday Inn. Spotted a local bakery called Kirk's and called in. Lovely friendly ladies served up impressive cakes and local breads at very reasonable prices. When we arrived in Fermanagh the cakes and breads were swiftly devoured with gusto by us all! This is my second visit... More

A mini, very mini Shankill Road. A nice mural of the man himself. Bit run down. Best seen from the top of one of the city tour buses. Typical of what was once a loyalist working class area . Not really a lot to see but helps understand the class divide which did exist.

Get off on your Hop On Hop Off and experience the history of the streets and if you prefer to stay on you see it.

You either love it or hate it as someone said in a previous review. For me I'm not into religion and there is not much to see here. Not fussed on the murals and the houses down this way don't look well kept.

This little area shows what working class Unionist/Loyalist Belfast is like - a busy shopping street but with too many empty units. The mural is good quality and genuinely iconic. Visit early to midday or thereabouts on 12th July if you can.

We were here for the 12th so we got to see the locals in full force. They are a happy, fun loving, proud bunch of people. The area is a bit run down but that only adds to the history. My parents always spoke of this place as a dangerous place to be, but we felt safe and very welcomed.
