Lovely building

This is a super building in the city centre. It is a school and grounds are private so be warned!! Would be good if they had open days so public can visit.

A beautiful building situated in the centre of town! However be aware that this is a school so the grounds are not open to the public!

This school has been a feature of Belfast's urban landscape for over 200 years. A boy-only school it has a sterling reputation which is well deserved. It easily merits 5 stars for its academic excellence, and for its sporting achievement. However, only the front facade can be seen from the road and that is set well back behind lawns and... More

RBAI is one of the oldest schools in Belfast. It was built and established in 1810 and the frontal façade of the building reflects the architecture of the time. Set back from the busy Belfast traffic it creates an imposing picture from a long since departed Belfast. Entering through the small black door you enter an anteroom with a wonderful... More

This stalwart in Belfast City centre is a fine example of architecture. It is an all boys school, set in a nice green lawn. Very handy for the city centre.

A 'must see' when visiting Belfast- RBAI or 'Inst' as it has become more commonly known, has been the top school in Belfast for decades, for both academic and sporting achievements. Its legendary status is recognised throughout the world and celebrated annually through the Instonian alumni network. As the famous saying goes 'There are only two types of children in... More

Simply put, this is the best school in Northern Ireland and quite possibly further afield. Other schools my rival it in academia and perhaps even sport but no other establishment comes close to rivalling the character, history and sense of belonging that comes with this school. A truly marvellous place and well worth a visit from anyone in the area.

My son was a pupil at RBAI and the thing which impressed me more than anything was the sense of pride and belonging it instilled in the boys. A great rounded education.
