We were on a city break and clearly picked the right area as the cathedral quarter was buzzing . Few places were rammed but we managed to squeeze in here which was better for couples. They had gigs on next door so next time we would check out whats on , but in the green room there was a dj... More

For the last number of years I have been a patron of The Black Box as both an audience member and organiser of events taking place there. The staff are always very enthusastic and helpful despite how busy they are serving customers, setting up rooms for events or winding down at the end of the evening. The sheer range of... More

I was here for the first time recently. Generally it's not the kind of place I would hang out in but if you're into your bands and alternative type djs etc it's a great place and filled with like minded people out to enjoy themselves. Based in the cathedral quarter it is very handy to a lot of other nearby... More

I'll say it at the outset - this is one of my favourite places in Belfast. For me the Black Box is perfect. I've had the best nights out and the best adventures in this spot. It has a super relaxed vibe and there's always something enthralling occurring - live music, theatre, cabaret, dance, comedy and captivating visual art. If... More

I have been here a few times.. The who surrounding area at cathedral quarter is just a lovely part of town..I have loved The Black Box each time I have been...disco night, comedy night and Marilyn Monroe evening for film festival.. Atmosphere and friendly staff makes it very welcoming.. Very arty and quirky. Highly recommend a visit, you will return..

This venue is on Hill Street, in the trendy Cathedral Quarter of the city. It hosts live music, comedy, art, literature, film etc. There are two venues, the Black Box and the Green Room. While passing recently, I asked the young lady who seemed to be running the place, if I could go in for a look, and she readily... More

We went to the Woodstock Blues Night with Grainne Duffy's Band. We had a great night and hope to be back at lots of future events. Much better than a massive venue...and great value!
