The Gower peninsula was one of the first area of outstanding natural beauty in the UK. It has several SSIs and recently the Welsh coastal path has been completed all around the peninsula. The whole coastline is around 55 miles and makes for glorious walking. It has some of the best beaches in Europe and spectacular views. Plenty of good... More

Visited late November and took in quite a bit of the peninsula. Do remember it's a pretty large area with very narrow roads in places so do leave plenty of time to get around. The views from the 'top' road heading down towards Rhossili are breathtaking especially on a clear day. This area is very impressive and well worth a... More

Plenty of places to explore. Beaches, woods, valleys, castles, churches and churchyards sprinkled with lovely cafes and pubs. Breathtaking scenery in places and areal sense of wild beauty.

Visited for a long weekend when the weather was very very kind. Walks are great. The dogs loved the downs - we avoided the cliffs. Wide expanses of sand at low tide vanish a few hours later. Locals friendly, winter traffic light, pubs welcoming. Top up with fuel and milk (and other essentials) as local shops and petrol stations are... More

The great place for landscape viewing. Half wild horses by the road, cosy villages, greatest beaches in the world (for viewing or surfing! cold for swimming)

Only swim when the tide is coming in as when it is on the way out the under current can be too strong for kids. We also enjoyed... More
