Visited for some bird watching but the highlight of my trip was a family of 4 otters playing and fishing just in front of one of the hides. Well laid-out and well maintained with floating paths across the lagoons giving great views and access to...More

Visited on a beautiful sunny day. Nice walking trails which are well marked. Small but lovely for those who enjoy walking. Would return if in the area.

In fairness a lot of the water was frozen of glazed with ice, so hardly anything to see apart from Stonechats and normal garden birds, duck and sea gulls. What surprised me the most, the ground was frozen, there was still snow, so I asked...More

It was freezing cold afternoon when we visited and to start with there did not seem much about. However we saw a fair number in the end including beautiful reed buntings. There are plenty of paths taking in a variety of habitats. Excellent playground for...More

So a place for birding or a walk in the "country" - highly accessible paths through reed beds, with lagoons and a path overlooking the Severn estuary and mouth of the Usk. There is a small cafe and RSPB shop with binocular hire and toilets....More

Safe yes but quite a long ride! I would guess about 5 miles. You could get a bus from the bus station which is about a 5 min walk from the train station!
