My boyfriend and I had planned to visit the castle during our trip to Cardiff and we were not disappointed in the slightest! The castle itself is gorgeous and full of history. Definitely a must see!

13 pounds for myself and my fiancé to visit a small castle with the majority of rooms locked. We did the whole castle in 20mins. Information boards were repetitive and not particularly informative. The castle itself is beautiful but they should really consider lowering prices...More

A 19th century rebuild of a much older castle by lord Bute, medieval enthusiast, and his architect, Burges. It has some wonderful features, amazing painted interiors and a very pleasant cafe.

This is a small castle just outside of Cardiff. Interesting design and quite different from most other welsh castles.

Definitely recommend the audio guide; very informative. However it's only available in English (a German couple struggled with this). Beautiful building, 19th century Gothic revival. Free parking, cafe and places to go for walks around the grounds.

I'd allow a couple of hours to take in a wander around with the audio guide and a drink in the café. But if you want to just tear through it an hour. There's some walks around the castle too so if you want to kill time you... More
