We didn't know what to expect but were pleasantly surprised with the range of things in the Bay Area. Lovely views out to see and lots of restaurants to enjoy. We were only there during the day and despite it being a freezing day we still very much enjoyed ourselves. My other half found the memorial to the Torchwood character... More

When I booked a Cardiff bay hotel for one night to break a journey I imagined that Cardiff bay would have been laid out with pedestrians in mind. Not so. Getting from the hotel to Cardiff Bay required a walk through acres of car parks, through a scruffy shopping centre and across a large road junction before arriving at the... More

A super bay with lots to visit and plenty of eating places . You can catch a river bus to Bute park a thirty minute journey or you can get the bus into the city centre

You won't regret a visit here. It's stunningly beautiful and rivals anything on the continent. The sun setting over the Bay is best viewed from the river taxi (maybe with a warm toddy in hand) coming back from the Barrage at Penarth. The Pierhead building and the Millenium Centre positively glow in the winter in particular.

I was really lucky that the sun was shining when I went to Cardiff. The water was glistening and a lot of people were out having a good time. There are plenty of restaurants where you can eat while looking at the bay. Also, there are a lot of boat tours (to the castle or just across the bay) which... More

I love the bay. Taken many a nice stroll around there in summer when they have the beach and fun fair there. Plenty to see do and eat/drink. You won't go hungry. A little pricey but I'm used to paying those prices now.

We wandered around the bay for several hours. Lots of interesting shops and sights. Welsh parliament, barrage, Techniquest, Dr Who, Norwegian church.... all good.

Parked near the barrage on the Penarth side. Nice leisurely walk over to the bay for a mooch about. Decided to have a meal in Signor Valentino which I can thoroughly recommend. Overall good place for sight-seeing or maybe a bit of shopping whether on foot or bike.
