Lovely evening stroll

Hidden gem, lovely place for a evening stroll. Very well thought out. Plenty of added interest with play areas, boards of facts. Well worth a visit

We walked the length of the barrage and back on a windy day. It would be beautiful in better weather! We really enjoyed watching the lock open to let boats into the freshwater bay.

Flat, paved path to the barrage .... popular with persons on wheels. Lovely views, and glad we came down here. Play area and a couple of picnic tables, but also grassed area for picnics too.

You can park at the west end (pay and display) or walk from the east end (when you can stop off at the enormous crocodile, skate park and rec along the way. Scooters would be great for little kids because its a fairly long walk. You can also get there by boat from Mermaid Quay (£2-3 single) or on a... More

To watch the boats entering and leaving the Barrage locks is quite interesting as there is a huge difference in the levels between the Bay and the sea.

If you visit the bay area it would be a shame to miss this work of engineering. To reach it you have to walk or cycle a mile or so along the sea embankment which is very pleasant to do in fine weather

Lovely walk along the water. The whole walk is flat and nicely paved so accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Nice watching the boats coming and going and good to walk off some of the food that can be enjoyed at one of the many Bay restaurants.

On a nice sunny day this offers a pleasant easy walk, certainly worth doing, especially if the locks are operating as this is good to watch.
