Visited here mid morning August on a beautiful day. The tea rooms were busy and appeared pretty but no time to use as had to catch the aqua bus. In the first 100 metres we saw 7 complete drunks. One was asleep on the central...More

Average park, interesting mostly because it is adjacent to Cardiff Castle. While it's nicely kept it's hardly the sort of place to which a tourist would make a special trip.

As we always stay in a nearby hotel we always make a point of strolling through the beautiful Roath Park. It is easily accessible being very close to the city centre and you can catch a boat trip to Cardiff Bay from there.

I was here last week, and all the autumn-colors were absolutely stunning. Lots of trees and paths, you can just walk along the main path or explore the smaller paths. Walked around until it got dark. Depending on which way you're facing, you'll also get...More

Beautiful colours of the autumn leaves. Very natural surroundings so close to the city. Squirrels running everywhere.

We rambled here on a leisurely walk to the Cricket Ground. Loved the relationship to the River, the people, the dogs, not the cyclists, the art work and the History. It is wheelchair friendly

The park is huge enough to run around and they even have a park run happening every Saturday. Also, you can wander around there simply walking as well.

The size of the park is eaten into by things like the cricket ground, but it is a very pretty park. We enjoyed several strolls through it over a weekend. Seems to be a safe place after dark too, judging from the number of people...More

There is NO fee for entry to the park. Any footwear if fine, although, that will depend on the amount of walking wishes to do.

Depends where in the Park you are walking and time of year; for a summer stroll on the main footpaths, ordinary shoes are fine. If you are dog walking in autumn or winter, then good quality wellies are advised
