The castle is a ruin but was just a short walk from our hotel and well worth the visit and by car we took a lovely scenic drive around the coast to Barry Island.

With 2 grandsons in tow, we visited several castle ruins in South Wales. This one was easy to find, but also not a lot to see. With ruins ( and free entry) the expectation should never be too high but this one ranks quite low...More

Coity Castle often gets overlooked but it is SO beautiful! Lots of events here over the summer, free to visit, kid's park opposite and amazing history - Definitely worth a visit

Coity in in a lovely area lots of places to park. Another well preserved ruin by Cadw with a lot to look around. Big area and lots remaining, loved the history of this one, Ogmore and Newcastle. Free site so no facilities.
