Visiting the local area with a friend from out of the country. We booked on the morning by phone to make sure we could get the time we wanted. The tour was excellent, with informative facts and history from our guide and the videos we were shown. Being so close to the turbines while they were generating electricity was awe-inspiring.... The tour was very informative, the power station is very unique. Understanding how the station works is an eye opener. The tour is suitable for all ages and is also fun as well as a learning experience.

We have wanted to visited the Electric Mountain for a long time. What an amazing idea to house an hydro electric plant inside the mountain. The staff were very helpful and friendly and very informative. Our only disappointment was that some maintenance in certain areas was being carried out which we felt restricted us to what we saw.

I chose this as something my partner was likely to enjoy, but I would tag along, just so he had some company. The reality is that I enjoyed it just as much as he did, if not more. I booked in advance, and chose a mid-morning tour. Booking was essential at that time, and our tour was full. We arrived... More

Didnt really know what to expect when we were handed hard hats and had to get on a coach to go for a trip INSIDE the mountain. Apparently the local area was not allowed to build the hydro power station as it was deemed it would ruin the view. not to be put off a hole big enough to put... More

It was interesting to see the power station hidden away inside the mountain, but perhaps we were expecting to see more. Have a look at their website to decide if this is your kind of attraction. If it is, book your tickets online to guarantee your preferred time slot, although you could probably just turn up off peak and go... More

Sounds boring but its amazing, very atmospheric and enormous. It has o be seen to be believed! Has coffee shop and gift shp and information centre(free) tour was £8.50... More

Enjoyable, interesting we learnt a lot about where our power comes from. Would have liked to have seen the control centre and to have been able to understand how that works. Well worth a visit

You get a helpful guide, a film show, a bus ride into the mountain and a couple of stops to view some of the inner workings which are massive, plus another film show inside the mountain. You are not allowed to take cameras mobiles phones which is a shame, but you can store them safely in a locker with a... More
