This is a great place to visit even if you are not interested in railways. The exhibits are fascinating with superb models of sections of towns and other features. The highlight is an enormous scale model of a steam engine that is fully ten feet...More

Visited here with a 3 year old and a teenager, both amused and entertained. 8 minutes train ride £2 each which was reasonable. Very friendly locals waving to us on the train. Worth a visit in my book.

In addition to an excellent museum, which includes many working models railways, there is also a 7 1/2 inch gauge train which gives a nice ride round the grounds. There is also a good shop for all things railway.
