I tend to venture to Swallow Falls every time I visit the area and it never fails to impress. Anyone who goes there expecting it to be on the scale of Victoria or Niagra falls will be utterly disappointed. However, Swallow Falls is a place of beauty with some wonderful photo opportunities. I visited for the first time out of... More

Walked up to here from betws y coed, mostly along the side of the river. We had been advised to visit here by a few people. I suppose our expectations were more than they should have been. The falls are worth the visit but having to pay £1.50 each for what is a small area to walk around just seemed... More

Visited Swallow Falls earlier this month after quite a bit of rainfall. The falls were in full flow and were spectacular (OK not as good as Niagara, but pretty good). Parking is limited immediately outside but there is a pay and display car park at the Swallow Falls Hotel opposite. There is a £1.50 charge for entry which is reasonable.... More

We visited Swallow Falls on arrival it looked closed as the shutters to the windows were down, there was a large turnstyle type entrance. I went to the pub across the road who advised that you self pay so I went back and saw slot type payment meter on the wall by the turn style for 1.50 make sure you... More

Initial disappointment at seeing the room allocated to us ( in outbuildings across a gravelly area) was soon sorted by Nathalie who gave us a nice room facing the actual Swallow Falls. The food in the bar and the breakfasts were good...fresh and well cooked. The staff were helpful and friendly. However all the public areas are shabby and dated.... More

There are ways 2 see the falls, either on the A5 side were you pay a small fee (car or walking to get there) or if your energetic- walk through the forest and get an alternative view. The forest walk is beautiful. Takes about 1 - 1.5 hours. Cross over the bridge in the village and follow the small road... More

If you have an affinity with the power of water, you will love it. Especially if you visit after heavy rainfall, when the falls will be at their most magnificent!

We had a walk from the town to the falls the entry is 1.50 however we didn't have the correct change so ended up paying 2 quid each. The falls are beautiful so peaceful and if you go down the steps get some great pics. There is a pub across the road perfect for a beer after walking from the... More

Enter via the road entrance £1.50 and all you can see is the falls can't walk any further as its been gated which was disappointing. Very pretty but from this entrance there are seats to sit and eat packed lunch which is probably all the time you would need in March. Was disappointed I would suggest accessing Swallow falls from... Took a walk from Betws-Y-Coed a long all the old bridal paths, nearly all the way but it seems it's obstructed in areas so made it difficult to get through, so we head out on the road for about 15-20 minutes. Arrived at Swallow Falls to find that you have to pay to get through the gate.. I had little... More
