Excellent experience for those who like being in canes. Realistic experience for those wanting to feel what it was like for the miners. Well worth admission cost. Takes about 20 -30 min from start, winding up to exit at top of small hill.

Not a Welsh slate mine this time but copper. Set in a beautiful valley just outside Bedggelert. This is a self guided tour with stops at voice commentary points. Hard hats are provided and there is some climbing up steel steps (about 186) which are...More

On a wet first morning in Wales, we travelled the one mile to the mine. It is well laid out and has good signage as you walk around.

picked up a leaflet for this place whilst at our caravan site so thought we would give it a try. It was a rainy day so figured as the mine is underground would be a good idea. So glad we went. beautiful surroundings and very...More

Visited on a rather moist Saturday morning collected our hard hats and entered the mine on our self guided tour. Fascinating insight into the life of a copper miner. Some of the metal ladders were particularly steep and would be unsuitable for those of a...More

The tour itself was not that long, and was over a little more quickly than I expected but I enjoyed it. It was nice to have the time to go through at your own pace though and not be held up by a guide. Information...More

Camping with family and the dog! Came for day out as you can take the dog in the mine if they are ok with climbing metal stairs. Good value, really interesting and great exercise climbing all those steps inside the mine! We then left the...More

Had a great day, 5 year old really enjoyed being underground. Be warned there are some stairs but all easy enough underground. After the underground self guided tour there are plenty of activities on site to keep you entertained, metal detecting, gold panning and zorbing...More

Took my 17 and 11 year olds to the copper mine, and whilst we really enjoyed it, it didn't last very long and I think was a little overpriced for a self guided tour... the pictures on the website make it look as though you...More

I visited with my 3 little boys and they were delighted to have to wear a hard hat on this visit. The mine has lots of information and is easily negotiable although there are a lot of steps after the halfway point which we hadn't...More

I took my 6 year old and 2.5 year old in there only 2 days ago. My youngest just about managed the stairs by himself, and he was wearing a backpack/rein thing, so I could guide him with the handle on it. The height from the... More
